Female Dog Names
When talking about female dog names remember that there are literally 1,000’s of names to select from. A lot of time the dog itself has a way of letting you know the best name. A female dog may have a beautiful color, short or long legs, a spot over the eye, run side ways or do something special that will make you want to name her a certain name. Then again female dog names can be selected from a large list of names. Just like people who have names that mean something so can your female dog.
One of the things that you should remember is that any dog when tested has the mentality of a child and therefore you must select a name that your female dog can understand. The highest level of mentality is that of a six year old which is not that often most dogs run between the age of three, four, and five in comprehension. That’s why it is important when you are looking at female dog names that they are easy to recognize. Usually make the name one or two syllables and no more so the little female dog can understand when she is being called. Animals are very smart - it does not take much to train them and name recognition comes rather quick.

Some people who chose names for their doggies use sports as a way to name them, others use the alphabet like the first female is named with the letter A the second B and so on. In selecting female dog names remember the pet’s behavior is a good way to come up with an appropriate name. Do stay away from names that sound like a command like Rover which does sound like roll over. As you can see this would be very confusing when you start to train your female dog tricks like sit, down, and roll over. Also remember to select a name that your dog can grow into like do not name her pup.

You may name her Pup but if she grows up to be a large dog then of course this name is not at all suitable. She is no longer a puppy and you expect her to act like an adult dog. That’s why you should make sure the name is good for her as a puppy and when she matures. Female dog names are important to your dog just as well as to the family. Your female dog is sensitive, kind, and loving and understands immensely a good name from a bad one. The female and male dogs often can understand at least two languages so that makes them bilingual. It is a noted factor that at guide dog training schools all across America that when they have requests for foreign dogs, the female dog, is usually selected and trained in both English and whatever language necessary for that person. I have seen dogs trained to obey in German, French, and Spanish as well as English. The female dog is quick to learn and easy to keep. She is normally very protective of her master and fits in with a family very well.
